Past News

What an eventful month we experienced!  We kicked off “Week of the Young Child” with a wonderful performance from the children on Preschool Sunday.  It was a huge success!  The preschool would like to send a special thank you to Heaven’s Eleven for generously donating their time to help serve after the service. The children had a great week, wiggling with Johnette Downing, petting all the animals from Zoo 2 U, watching Ms Maritza make balloon animals, and having our grandparents/special person visit our classrooms.

Dates to Remember

May 9th – Pre-K pictures

May 23rd – Last day of school (1/2 for all students...there will be no aftercare on that day)

May 23rd – Pre-K closing program

The students will be celebrating Mother’s Day and the four year olds will be having their end of the year program. Summer camp registration began, and classes are filling up rapidly. The last day of school is May 23rd and it is a half day for all students, there will be no after care on that day.

Summer time is almost here and our time together at least for this school year is coming to a close. Parent’s have often asked me,” How do you do this everyday?” I wonder how many people have a job where everyday is filled with laughter, with love, with praise, a job full of creativity and freedom to explore in your own way, a job that is ever changing; a job of belonging to a supportive community, and working with colleagues that have all become good friends, a job around children who always make one forget about their own worries and step into the moment, a job sharing in the delight of discovery. What a great blessing is to work with God’s little ones.

I would personally like to extend a thank you to all parents and teachers.  Without you, Christ the King would not prosper.

God’s Blessings for a safe and enjoyable summer,

Maritza Sprague, Preschool Director
