Prayer Shawl Ministry

"Shawls ... made for centuries universal and embracing,

symbolic of an inclusive, unconditionally loving, God.

They wrap, enfold, comfort, cover, give solace,

mother, hug, shelter and beautify.

Those who have received these shawls have been

uplifted and affirmed, as if given wings to

fly above their troubles…”

  Janet Bristow - 1998

Whether you are a novice or an expert at knitting and/or crocheting, all are invited to participate in this exciting new ministry. We will be combining prayer and knitting to benefit others. The prayer shawls will be given as an outreach to those who are ill, grieving, or need a special blessing. Dorothy Boyd and Becky Stevenson have graciously volunteered their talents to teach those interested in knitting or crocheting. 0ur gatherings will be on at 12:30 PM in the Church conference room one Thursday per month as announced in the bulletin. If you already have them, you wilt need to bring knitting needles size 11 or 13, crochet hooks size "M", "N", or "P". If you have yarn, bring it also. Shawls work better with bulky yarns. Come join us to see the benefits this ministry brings to you. For more information contact Karen Marchal, and you can also visit www.shawlministry.com.
